The IEEE Computer Society Chapter of MMIT IEEE Student Branch organized an industrial visit to the National PARAM Supercomputing Facility on 8th May 2026. A total of 31 IEEE student members along with faculty coordinators participated in the visit, where students explored advanced supercomputing systems like PARAM Siddhi-AI, PARAM Rudra, and AIRAWAT. The session provided valuable insights into high-performance computing, AI applications, data center infrastructure, and career-oriented programs offered by C-DAC.
MMIT IEEE Student Branch organized an international hands-on session on “Building AI Agents” featuring Mr. Mayuresh Waykole from Microsoft. Participants built a functional AI agent in a guided 60-minute workshop, followed by an interactive Q&A.
A monthly recurring global hands-on workshop series organized by the MMIT IEEE Student Branch in collaboration with the IEEE Pune Section, focusing on Ethical Hacking, the Dark Web, and Generative AI.
The MMIT IEEE Student Branch held its IEEE Membership Drive-III on March 24, 2026, at the Computer Engineering Department. Guided by Dr. Monika Dangore, the team provided registration support to students, securing three immediate memberships with ten more expected by April.
The MMIT IEEE Student Branch organized its first Special Interest Group (SIG) activity under the Computer Society Chapter titled “AI Conclave”, a student-led panel discussion exploring India’s role in the global AI race, the future of AI-driven jobs, and emerging opportunities for startups and students.
The MMIT IEEE Student Branch organized a field visit to the Chaitanya Institute for Mental Health, Pune, on 21st November 2025. Students learned about clinical practices, behavioral aspects of mental health, and how AI/ML technologies can support diagnosis, prediction, and treatment of mental disorders. The visit included 18 IEEE EMBS interns and 11 faculty members. The institute invited students to collaborate further on mental-health research.
MMIT IEEE Student Branch conducted its Second IEEE Membership Drive on 13th October 2025, adding 46 new members and renewing most existing memberships through IEEE Day offers. With active promotion by the Executive Committee and encouragement from dignitaries during the IEEE Day event, the branch surpassed 55 members. IEEE awareness also expanded beyond campus as the Branch Counsellor was invited as a Guest Speaker at another institution.
MMIT IEEE Student Branch celebrated IEEE Day 2025 and hosted the final round of “Field2Frame,” a national-level field research documentary competition sponsored by IEEE Pune Section. The event featured expert insights, member felicitations, and presentations by the Top-5 finalists. Winners were announced, event highlights were showcased, and over 100 participants attended, marking a successful and engaging celebration.
MMIT IEEE Student Branch celebrated IEEE Day 2025 with a vibrant Photoshoot Event on 7th October. Students and staff captured creative solo and group photos with IEEE posters and merchandise, participated in short video creation, and actively shared IEEE Day moments on social media. The event aligned with the global IEEE Day theme of Photo and Video Contests and successfully promoted awareness and engagement across campus.
IEEE MMIT students visited the RESQ Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre on 29th August 2025 to learn about wildlife rescue operations and explore how technology can support conservation. They attended an informative session, toured the facility, interacted with the RESQ team and founder, and discussed potential tech-based collaboration projects.
MMIT IEEE Student Branch conducted the First Round of the “Inv.Ent Pitch Competition 2025” on 28th August 2025 in collaboration with IEEE Region 10 and IEEE Pune Section. Teams presented startup ideas, with “AUTO-ML AGENT” securing first place and “Park Mate” tying with “Urban Banners” for second. Selected winners advanced to the IEEE Pune Section round.
The MMIT IEEE Student Branch Executive Committee visited The Grasslands Trust, Pune on 16th May 2025 to explore collaborative opportunities in wildlife conservation. The team discussed technological needs, data sharing, volunteering, and training programs with Founder Mihir Godbole. This collaboration led to the development of a research paper on wild animal welfare, accepted at three IEEE international conferences.
